0 / 4 done
  1. Prepare & measure

Remove the avocado skin and pit, then measure the flesh. Measure almond milk, cocoa, peanut butter and protein powder using the amounts above.

Your cue: Stir separated peanut butter before measuring for a more even portion.

  2. Blend · about 15 sec

    Wet the powders

Add almond milk, cocoa and protein powder to the jug. Secure the lid and blend on low for about 15 seconds so the powders do not stay dry on the surface.

Your cue: Look for an evenly brown liquid without powder pockets.

  3. Blend · 30–45 sec

    Blend in the creaminess

Stop and add peanut butter and avocado. Blend for about 30–45 seconds, increasing the speed gradually. Stop before scraping down the sides if needed.

Your cue: There should be no green avocado pieces or streaks of peanut butter.

  4. Taste & adjust

With the machine off, taste a spoonful. Add a little water if it is thicker than you like, then blend briefly and pour. Sweetness will vary with the protein powder you use.

Your cue: A smooth spoon-coating texture is the goal; extra blending cannot sweeten unsweetened cocoa.

The finish line

Here’s what you’re aiming for.

A rich cocoa-coloured smoothie with a smooth body and a peanut finish.

Too thick, thin or grainy?

Blending times are starting points; use the texture cues and your blender’s instructions. Loading order is for a typical upright jug. Switch off before scraping or tasting, and never put utensils into moving blades.
