Prep the avocado & spinach
Rinse the spinach. Remove avocado skin and pit, then measure the flesh. Measure the silken tofu, almond milk and vanilla using the quantities above.
Your cue: Use silken tofu as listed; firm tofu produces a different texture.
Blend · 20–30 sec
Blend the green base
Add almond milk and spinach to the jug. Secure the lid and blend for about 20–30 seconds, until the leaves are finely dispersed.
Your cue: There should be no whole leaves sitting above the liquid.
Blend · 30–45 sec
Add the creamy ingredients
Stop and add avocado, silken tofu and vanilla. Blend for another 30–45 seconds, starting low. Stop and add a splash of water if needed for circulation.
Your cue: The tofu and avocado should disappear into a uniform pale-green base.
Check the consistency
Taste with the blades stopped. Add a little water for a thinner pour, blend briefly and serve. Follow the ingredient storage instructions for any unused tofu.
Your cue: The finish should be creamy without separate tofu lumps.
The finish line
Here’s what you’re aiming for.
A soft green smoothie with a smooth, mellow body and a gentle vanilla aroma.
Too thick, thin or grainy?Blending times are starting points; use the texture cues and your blender’s instructions. Loading order is for a typical upright jug. Switch off before scraping or tasting, and never put utensils into moving blades.
